ISO 14001 sets out the framework for an environmental management system within our business, this gives assurance to our stakeholders that our environmental impacts are measured and consistently improved. Our impact on the environment is reduced with the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste, and energy consumption.

ISO 45001 is an internationally applied British Standard for occupational health and safety management systems. Having a clearly defined management system in place provides our business with a framework to minimise risks, not only to your workforce but to anyone entering onto your sites, such as visitors or external contractors.

We are registered members of Constructionline. Construction line is the UK’s largest pre-qualification certification scheme for construction-related contractors, consultants and material suppliers. Its aim is to provide efficiency savings to public and private sector procurers and the construction industry as a whole by streamlining procurement procedures. Langstone Construction Group has been a member since the Company’s inception.

As an SSIP member scheme, Acclaim Accreditation supports the objectives of SSIP to improve health and safety standards across the UK and reduce duplication of paperwork in procurement.

Smas Worksafe is one of the UK’s leading providers of health and safety assessments and a national leader in providing full form SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement). Smas Worksafe helps contractors demonstrate their health & safety compliance to clients and meet construction and related industries’ pre­ qualification requirements.

Langstone Construction Group is an accredited member of SMAS/SSIP and has been since its inception. We welcome the work of SSIP to simplify prequalification, and to encourage straightforward mutual recognition between its Member Schemes. Langstone Construction Group actively supports the work of Safety Schemes in Procurement Forum (SSIP Forum), and the arrangements by which the Member Schemes of the Forum achieve mutual recognition of each other’s Health and Safety Assessments. Mutual recognition is possible because all the assessments meet the standards of the Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations 2015.

Langstone Construction Group registers our projects with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The scheme is concerned about any area where construction activity may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry.

The main areas of concern fall into three categories:

the general public, the workforce and the environment.

We have received performance beyond compliance and excellence awards for many of our sites and continue to work at achieving this on all sites.

All our sites registered with the Scheme are monitored against the 5 point Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage performance beyond statutory requirements. The Code consists of the following sections: Environment, Appearance, Safety, Workforce and Community.

Langstone Construction Group are registered members of the National House Building Council, which states its primary purpose as raising the construction standards of new homes in the UK and provide consumer protection for homebuyers.

We are registered members of Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents who are the biggest charity organisation in the promotion of health & safety and accident prevention.

We are members of the PPC, which is a voluntary code of practice for businesses and sets standards for payment between organisations and suppliers.

We undertake to Pay suppliers on time, within agreed terms. Give clear guidance to suppliers on terms, dispute resolution and prompt notification of late payment. Support good practice throughout their supply chain by encouraging adoption of the Code.

We have partnered with Blue Marble to develop our carbon accounting process and platform in order to provide highly accurate greenhouse gas inventories, with a view to reducing our emissions and CO2 removals

We became a CLOCS Champion in 2023. A CLOCS Champion is an organisation that commits to implementing the CLOCS Standard across its business operations, encouraging its customers, suppliers and other relevant organisations to do the same. The CLOCS Standard is a national industry standard that promotes good practice beyond basic legal compliance and was developed to ensure the safest, leanest, and greenest construction vehicle journeys. We commit to reducing the risk of harm to the community from construction vehicle journeys by working together to improve construction logistics

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families.
