Pupils from Years 3, 5 and 6 took part in Money Wise workshops designed to help children develop a practical understanding of money, spending, saving and financial decision-making. The sessions provided an interactive learning experience, encouraging pupils to think about the choices they make, and the role money plays in everyday life.
Sponsoring these workshops has allowed us to support an educational initiative that will benefit young people long after construction is complete, and it has given two local schools the opportunity to access valuable financial education in an engaging and accessible way.
Our Social Value Manager, Rhea Carey, attended the workshops and experienced first-hand the enthusiasm and engagement shown by the pupils throughout the sessions. Watching the children participate, ask questions and build confidence around financial topics demonstrated the real value of providing these educational opportunities at an early age.
The workshops sparked great conversations across all year groups. From learning about different ways to pay for goods and services to understanding the difference between debit and credit cards, pupils showed an impressive willingness to learn.
The interactive format, quizzes, and games also received an enthusiastic response, and it was particularly encouraging to see pupils apply their own knowledge and experiences to the discussions, demonstrating how valuable these sessions can be in developing lifelong financial awareness.
The school's feedback was equally positive, with staff praising the engaging delivery and the workshops' impact on pupils.
At Langstone Construction Group, we recognise the importance of creating positive social value alongside the projects we deliver. Supporting initiatives such as these workshops helps us build stronger, more informed communities while investing in the next generation.
