The project involved the removal of the existing granite paving, setting aside for reuse, construction of a new reinforced concrete slab together with removal, hydro-demolition in part of the existing precast concrete plinth blocks, repairs to the river wall, reinstall the plinth blocks with new reinforcement and secure to the new concrete slab and finally re-lay the paving, leaving the walkway as if nothing had happened.
