Social Value

Communities and Wellbeing

We pride ourselves on building strong partnerships with local schools and youth-focused organisations that help inspire and support young people. Our team also actively volunteers with charities such as YMCA and Oasis Refugee Centre, supporting young people and families in need.

We actively work with and support a range of companies and charities that align with our commitment to social impact, education and wellbeing. Through initiatives such as Make Sense of Pence and the Bumbles of Honeywood programme, we engage pupils in practical learning around financial awareness, career choices and confidence building, helping them to better understand the world of work. Through One Million Mentors (1MM), we provide mentoring and career insight and support to secondary school pupils, connecting our staff to help raise aspirations, confidence and improve employability.

The wellbeing of our staff is incredibly important to us and we're proud sponsors of the Lighthouse Construction Charity, promoting mental health awareness and wellbeing within the construction industry signposting support to those who need it.

Local Economy

Being a South Wales based company, we are committed to supporting the local Welsh economy. We prioritise the use of local labour and creating employment opportunities within the communities we work. We actively engage with SMEs and social enterprises, helping to strengthen local businesses and promote inclusive economic growth. By sourcing materials and services through our Welsh supply chain wherever possible, we ensure that project spend is retained within the region, supporting jobs, businesses, and long-term sustainability.

This approach maximises social and economic benefits for Wales and its communities. One of our social enterprise partnerships is with Elite Paper Solutions, a Wales-based company that provides secure and confidential waste management services while creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities and those facing barriers to work. By choosing Elite Paper Solutions, organisations not only meet their data protection and sustainability obligations, but also actively support inclusive employment and social impact across Wales.

Environment

We are committed to minimising our environmental impact and embedding sustainability into everything we do. Across our projects we take a proactive approach to reducing waste, improving resource efficiency and lowering carbon emissions through responsible design, procurement and construction practices. We prioritise the reuse and recycling of materials wherever possible and work closely with our supply chain to adopt environmentally responsible solutions.

Our surplus timber went to good use at a nearby community garden replacing the damaged plant beds and to building a welfare garden at a local fire station. Our proactive approach on all projects supports our commitment to minimising waste diverted to landfill.

Cascade Tower, our new development in Cardiff is the tallest building in Wales to have a Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structural frame, creating more eco-friendly homes. Here are some of the key benefits to using CLT:

  • Sustainable construction

  • Provides high airtightness to improve thermal comfort

  • Has a reduced impact on the environment

  • Energy efficient

  • Provides longer-lasting durability for homes

Through continual review and improvement with our partner Blue Marble, we aim to deliver high-quality projects, while contributing positively to environmental sustainability for our communities.
